The Salt Spa
A Natural Drug-Free Remedy for Asthma, Sinusitis, Hay Fever and other Respiratory Illnesses
The Salt Spa is Colorado’s first holistic respiratory treatment center. Salt therapy is 100% natural, safe, and drug free. It provides effective long-term relief from respiratory ailments.
In Colorado, many people live in a dry, polluted, and pollen-filled environment. As a result, an increasing number of people suffer from asthma, sinusitis, and allergies. We brush our teeth each day and bathe our bodies, but there are few means available to clean out our lungs and respiratory tract.
Respiratory tract hygiene can be achieved using Halotherapy!
Halotherapy clears pollens, viruses, pollutants, and toxins out of the lungs, sinuses, and nasal passageways; thus preventing illness, decreasing allergies, irritation, and inflammation in the respiratory tract. Your respiratory tract will feel rejuvenated with the regular use of Halotherapy.
Sessions of salt therapy will also reduce stress, anxiety, and help regulate sleep patterns. Dry salt aerosol therapy or Halotherapy can be used as a complementary treatment to prescribed medications or as a sole treatment. When halotherapy is used as a complementary treatment, it can increase the effectiveness of prescribed medications and decrease their required amount. It has been proven effective in multiple clinical trials in treating asthma, sinusitis, and bronchitis.
Due to the overwhelming request of our clients, we cannot provide our salt therapy to any current smokers of any and all tobacco products.
Thank you for your understanding.

Meet the Owner Dr Nita Desai
Nita Desai, M.D. is a family physician and Holistic Medical Doctor. She is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and has studied yoga, western nutrition, and complementary medicine. Dr. Desai has been in private practice in Boulder since 1999.
She has been featured in Denver’s 5280 Magazine.
Dr. Desai is uniquely qualified to blend the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with the latest in modern medical knowledge creating a comprehensive system of personalized healthcare. Her goal is to understand and treat the core imbalances in the body and not simply treat symptoms.
For some time now, she has been researching Halotherapy, a form of treatment for respiratory diseases that has been used in Eastern Europe and Russia for over a century. Dr. Desai was impressed by this scientifically supported and clinically proven method of treatment (Halotherapy). The scientific research was so overwhelmingly positive that she felt an obligation to introduce this treatment to Colorado, where there is a high incidence of asthma and sinusitis. In addition, the treatment is so simple and easy that it requires little or no lifestyle or dietary changes, making it readily accessible and affordable to all individuals. As Dr. Desai researched this therapy, she was drawn to the fact that there were no negative side effects, making it an ideal therapy for children, as well as adults.
“This is an amazing new and natural therapy for people like me who have been suffering forever from allergies and chronic sinusitis. One session cleared my earache and sinuses. I highly recommend this therapy!!”
